Margherita Bruni

Margherita Bruni is the Enterprise Architecture Chief at the International Monetary Fund. Margherita has over 18 years of experience in the field of information systems and has held various leadership positions in both the public and private sector.

Margherita began their career as an Adjunct Professor of Information Systems at The George Washington University before moving to AARP where they served as the Director of Business Intelligence, Data, and Analytics for seven years. In this role, they were responsible for developing and implementing strategies to improve data management and decision-making across the organization.

In 2011, they joined DXC Technology (then CSC) as the Principal Manager of Analytics. During their three years at the company, they led several initiatives to improve data collection and analysis, including the implementation of a Big Data platform.

In 2014, they joined Freddie Mac as the Director of Enterprise Data Architecture. In this role, they were responsible for defining the roadmap to support Big Data business requirements and Big Data adoption at Freddie Mac. Margherita also designed secure solutions and architectures for a variety of projects, including disaster recovery strategy and proper protection of PII on premise and in the cloud.

In 2016, they returned to the International Monetary Fund as the Lead Enterprise Information Architect. In this role, they are responsible for developing and managing the enterprise architecture for the organization.

Margherita Bruni's educational career includes a degree in Executive Education from Columbia Business School, a degree in Management Information Systems from The George Washington University, and a CISSP diploma from Infosec. Margherita also holds a Master of Science and Diploma in Mechanical Engineering and Management from Università degli Studi di Napoli Federico II. In addition, they have various certifications from Amazon Web Services (AWS), LinkedIn, and LearnQuest in areas ranging from cloud economics to DevOps with AWS.

They are on a team with Jayesh Panchal - Global Chief Information Security Officer, Shirin Hamid - CIO, and Sali Osman, NACD Fellow, CRISC, CISM, CISSP - Chief Security Officer. Margherita Bruni reports to Kristalina Georgieva, Managing Director.
