Sali Osman, NACD Fellow, CRISC, CISM, CISSP

Sali Osman is the current Chief Security Officer at the International Monetary Fund. Osman has been in this role since January 2021 and is responsible for the digital strategy of all second line of defense functions, including Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC), Advanced Threat Protection (ATP), cybersecurity awareness, culture and communication, and Digital Analytics. Additionally, Osman leads the cyber-advisory of digital transformation, cryptocurrency, fintech, and digital payments.

Prior to their current role, Osman served as the Principal Security Executive Advisor at Amazon Web Services (AWS) from March 2019 to February 2021. In this role, they advised executives, board members, and government officials on digital risks during transformation and global crisis. Osman also served global customers in media, health and life sciences, telecommunication, energy, and governments. Additionally, they led the presales and the delivery of security engagements for global and strategic accounts.

Before their time at AWS, Osman was the Chief Product Officer at FullHunt from January 2016 to March 2019. As Chief Product Officer, they were responsible for product management, product development, and product marketing. Additionally, they oversaw the company's go-to-market strategy and execution.

Osman began their career as a CyberSecurity & Risk Subject Matter Resource at EY in November 2015. In this role, they provided guidance on cybersecurity risks and best practices to clients across various industries. Sali also helped clients develop their own

Sali Osman has a graduate certificate in information security management from The George Washington University, a PhD (ABD) in biodefense from George Mason University, and an M.Sc in computer systems from City University of Seattle. Sali also has a B.Eng in electronics communication and computer engineering from Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport. Sali Osman is certified by ISACA in Certified Data Privacy Solutions Engineer (CDPE), Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), and Certified in Risk and Information Systems Control (CRISC). Sali is also certified by (ISC)² as a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) and by the National Security Agency as a NSTISSI-4011.
