Senior Scientist Process Development at Intravacc

Yvonne Thomassen has over 20 years of experience in the field of process development and vaccine research. Yvonne started their career as a scientist at Utrecht University, where they focused on the production of llama antibody fragments. During this time, they conducted research on factors influencing the efficient secretion and yields of these fragments.

In 2003, Yvonne joined Food & Biobased Research Wageningen UR, where they contributed to a project on food preservation and safety. Yvonne'smain focus was on psychrotolerant Bacillus species.

Yvonne then joined NVI as a scientist in 2006 and worked on process development for five years. Yvonne then moved to RIVM National Institute for Public Health and the Environment, where they worked as a scientist specializing in process development for a year.

In 2012, Yvonne joined Intravacc, a company that develops vaccines from laboratory to clinical study in humans. Yvonne initially worked as a scientist specializing in viral vaccines. Subsequently, they were promoted to Senior Scientist and later became the Head of Process Development for Viral Vaccines. Yvonne'srole at Intravacc involved reducing development risks and costs of new vaccines by bridging the translational gap between the laboratory and the market.

Yvonne has extensive experience in the development of viral vaccines and is dedicated to promoting public health through their work.

Yvonne Thomassen began their education at St Ursula, Horn from 1986 to 1992. Yvonne then attended Wageningen University & Research from 1992 to 1998, earning a MsC degree in Biotechnology. Yvonne later pursued a PhD in Bioprocess Engineering at Wageningen University & Research from 2012 to 2014. Yvonne also obtained additional training at Maruna Process Improvement in 2010-2011, specializing in Six Sigma Black Belt. In 2017, Yvonne attended Bureau Zuidema to gain insight into influence but did not earn a degree.
