Julia Rusciano

Julia Rusciano has a range of work experience in various roles and companies. Julia started as a Test Systems Engineer Intern at Medtronic in 2015, where they performed reliability and quality test programs on Neuromodulation devices. Julia then moved on to Baxter International Inc. in 2017, working as a Test Controls Engineer Intern. In this role, Julia designed and built test fixtures, performed reliability and quality testing on renal dialysis and blood warming devices, and created tool drawings and reliability procedures.

In the same year, Julia also worked as a Research Assistant at the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities, where they conducted research projects related to biopolymers and polyplex structures. Their responsibilities included developing carbohydrate block-co-polymers for gene delivery and synthesizing and characterizing polymers for studying delivery mechanisms.

Julia joined Medtronic again in 2018 as an Associate Quality/MDR Specialist. In this position, they processed technical medical documents, interpreted adverse events, and managed cross-company communications for reported events.

Most recently, Julia worked at Intricon Corporation as a Senior Process Development Engineer. Their responsibilities included planning and managing the development and evaluation of process assembly steps, translating customer requirements into process outputs, and completing risk assessment activities.

Julia Rusciano has a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry and Materials Science from the University of Minnesota. Julia also holds a Master of Science (MS) degree in Biomedical/Medical Engineering from Purdue University College of Engineering. In terms of additional certifications, Julia obtained the ASQ Certified Quality Engineer certification from ASQ - World Headquarters in October 2021. Julia also completed the Supervision Fundamentals program at MRA - The Management Association in May 2021. Moreover, Julia has certifications in Management Systems Auditing (ISO 19011:2018) and Medical Devices Quality Management Systems ISO 13485:2016 Internal Auditor from Exemplar Global, Inc., earned in November 2019. Julia has also completed training in Human Research: Biomedical Research Investigators and Key Personnel and Responsible Conduct of Research (RCR) Training - Faculty, Postdoctoral, and Graduate Students from CITI Program, A Division of BRANY in September 2019.
