Michael Carroll

Senior Software Engineer at Intrinsic

Michael Carroll has a diverse work experience spanning from 2006 to 2023. Michael started their career as a Design Engineering Co-op at VT Miltope in 2006 and later worked as an Engineering Intern at National Instruments in 2009.

Carroll then joined MIT Lincoln Laboratory in 2012 as an Associate Staff member, where they focused on GPS-denied navigation and participated in an internal company competition involving autonomous systems. Michael then joined Leidos in 2013 as an Embedded Software Engineer, contributing to the development of navigation algorithms and middleware for the DARPA All Source Positioning and Navigation program.

In 2015, Carroll worked as a Robotics Software Engineer at Robotic Paradigm Systems, and in 2016, they joined NuSpatial in the same role. During this time, they gained experience in the development of robotics software.

Carroll also served as a Board Member at Urban Engine from 2016 to 2020, contributing to the organization's strategic decision-making processes.

From 2018 to 2023, they worked at Open Robotics as a Software Engineer, making technical contributions to the ROS and ROS2 frameworks and the Gazebo simulator.

Most recently, Carroll joined Intrinsic in 2023 as a Senior Software Engineer, furthering their expertise in the field.

Michael Carroll has a solid education history, having attended Auburn University for their Bachelor of Electrical Engineering (BEE) degree from 2005 to 2010. Following this, they pursued a Master of Science (MS) degree in Electrical Engineering from Auburn University as well, completing it from 2010 to 2012.
