Tim Niemueller has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries.
Starting in 1998, they founded Niemueller Systems, and later went on to establish SysLife Ltd. in 2005, where they served as the CEO. During this time, they also worked as a freelancer at WebWide Internet Communication GmbH from 2001 to 2007.
Tim's academic journey began in 2003 when they became a student worker at RWTH Aachen University and continued in 2010 when they joined Carnegie Mellon University as a Research Staff member. Their role at CMU involved research and development in the Personal Robotics Lab.
From 2011 to 2019, Tim worked as a Researcher PhD Student at RWTH Aachen University, focusing on their research. Simultaneously, in 2011, they worked as a Robotics Freelancer at SRI International, contributing to the Autonomous Robot Manipulation project.
In 2019, Tim joined Google and X, the moonshot factory, as a Robot Software Engineer. Tim contributed to software development and engineering in both roles.
Currently, Tim is employed at Intrinsic as a Senior Robot Software Engineer, a position they started in July 2021.

Tim Niemueller pursued their education in the field of computer science. Tim started their academic journey at RWTH Aachen University in 2001 and completed their Diploma, which is equivalent to a Master's degree, in computer science in 2009. Tim furthered their studies at the same university and obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Cognitive Robotics in 2019.
