Nagesh Tonne

Nagesh Tonne is the VP of Product Development at Intuit. Nagesh has over 20 years of experience in the software engineering industry.

Tonne started their career as a software engineer at Freeworks.com, Inc. in April 1999. Nagesh worked there for two years before moving to PayCycle, Inc. in April 2001.

At PayCycle, Tonne was a scalability and platform engineer. Nagesh was responsible for guiding and mentoring engineers on data modeling, cache strategy, and writing scalable frameworks. Nagesh also designed and implemented a highly scalable ACH (electronic funds transfer system).

In July 2009, Intuit acquired PayCycle and Tonne was identified as one of the key employees. Nagesh continued working at Intuit in the same role, leading the scalability and performance engineering team.

Under their leadership, the team was able to improve the performance of auto tasks by 90%. Nagesh also designed an electronic tax payments extensible framework, which was adopted by more than 40 states. In addition, they implemented an accountant portal to manage multiple clients, view aggregated information, and easily auto login and switch between clients.

Nagesh Tonne attended Shree Jaychamrajendra college of engineering and obtained a Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) in Electronics and communications.
