Farhan Shahab

Senior Director, Quality Assurance and Regulatory Affairs at Intuity Medical

Farhan Shahab has over 20 years of experience in the Quality Assurance and Regulatory Affairs field. Farhan started their career in 1999 at Allergan as an Engineering Group Leader, where they were promoted to manage a team. In 2003, they joined Medtronic as a Quality Systems Manager and played an integral role in two major acquisitions. From 2008 to 2013, Farhan worked at AngioScore as the Sr Director of Quality Engineering and Quality Management Systems. During their time there, they managed the Quality team and oversaw all aspects of supplier quality, complaint handling, regulatory audits, document control, training, new product development, manufacturing support and biohazard returned product analysis. In 2013, Farhan joined Moximed as the Director of Quality Assurance and Regulatory Compliance, where they directed a total overhaul of all quality subsystems procedures and processes, and prepared Clinical Evaluation Reports, Technical Files, FDA/Notified Body submissions, and international registrations. Farhan then joined the University of California, Santa Cruz as Adjunct Faculty for Regulatory Affairs (Medical Devices) in 2015, and most recently, they have been the Senior Director of Quality Assurance and Regulatory Affairs at Intuity Medical, Inc. since 2017.

Farhan Shahab began their education in 1994 at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, where they earned their BS in Chemical Engineering in 1998. In 2000, they continued their education at the University of Phoenix, earning their MBA in Business Administration in 2002. In 2010, Farhan attended RAPS University and obtained a Certificate in Medical Devices for US, EU and Canada in 2011. Farhan also holds a number of certifications, including a CQE (Certified Quality Engineer) from ASQ - World Headquarters (obtained in 2003), a CSSBB (American Society of Quality Six Sigma Black Belt) from ASQ - World Headquarters (obtained in 2006), a Regulatory Affairs Certification United States (RAC-US) from Regulatory Affairs Professionals Society (RAPS) (obtained in 2017), a Work Style Assessment for Auditors from Exemplar Global, Inc. (obtained in 2018), and a Quality Management Systems Associate Auditor from Exemplar Global, Inc. (obtained in 2006).
