Kelly Yao

Kelly Yao's work experience begins in 1999 with a role as a Software Engineer at Digicom Systems, where they implemented applications for hardware devices and provided software maintenance and technical support. In 2000, they worked as a Software Engineer at Gigabeat Inc. The following year, they joined Neopost as a Software Engineer, responsible for developing, maintaining, and supporting e-commerce applications.

In 2004, Kelly became a Software Engineer at First American CoreLogic LoanPerformance, focusing on developing a risk management application and working closely with cross-functional teams. From 2005 to 2008, they served as a Software Engineer at Fisher Investments, leading the design, development, and maintenance of web-based financial software applications. They also provided technical leadership and communicated with internal users, business analysts, and project management teams.

In 2008, Kelly joined Philips as a Project Lead/Senior Software Development Engineer, leading a team in designing and developing enterprise imaging software projects. They coordinated with distributed teams to ensure timely and high-quality project delivery. In 2012, they became a Software Development Manager at HEAT Software, where they led a team of engineers and coordinated multiple projects, focusing on architecture, scalability, availability, and performance.

From 2017 to 2022, Kelly served as a Director of Software Engineering at ICE Mortgage Technology, where they owned an automation platform and other lending platform services. They achieved the goal of automating various processes and presented the platform's architecture and potential business solutions to stakeholders within the organization.

In 2022, Kelly took on the role of Director of Engineering, Platform at Andela. They led the engineering effort to build a cloud-based marketplace platform and advocated for new architecture and engineering solutions, presenting to executives and stakeholders.

Currently, Kelly holds the position of Senior Director of Platform Engineering at Iodine Software, an enterprise AI company. They are responsible for owning all engineering for core data ingestion, data processing, and model inference services. They lead platform engineering teams and are instrumental in developing industry-leading products.

Throughout their career, Kelly has shown expertise in technical leadership, software development, architecture design, and project management.

Kelly Yao has an MBA degree in Finance from California State University - East Bay. Additionally, they hold an MS degree in Computer Science from San Francisco State University. Kelly also has a certification as a Certified ScrumMaster from Scrum Alliance.
