The founding team at Ionis Pharmaceuticals has a long history of experience in the pharmaceutical industry. The team's CEO, Dr. Stanley Crooke, is a Baylor College of Medicine graduate who has previously worked as the Vice President at SmithKline Beckman Corporation and as the President Research & Development at Smith Kline and French Laboratories. Additionally, the team's Director, Dr. Phillip Sharp, is also a Baylor College of Medicine graduate who has previously worked as the Director of the Bristol-Baylor Molecular Pharmacology Laboratory.
