Dwaine Heppler

Dwaine Heppler is currently the AVP of University Human Resources at Iowa State University. Previously, they were the Director of HR Business Partner Operations at Collins Aerospace from December 2013 to February 2019. In this role, they were accountable for HR strategy, talent management, program alignment and direction of support functions for human resource initiatives and annual operating plans for Operations. This included people and measurement systems, diversity and inclusion strategy, performance management, organizational design, employee/labor relations, executive and leadership development, succession planning, compensation planning, and talent acquisition/development programs.

From November 2007 to December 2013, Heppler was the Principal Manager of Employee Relations at Rockwell Collins. In this role, they led Employee Relations (ER) Center of Excellence for all company businesses and locations in the United States, supporting over 15,000 employees. Dwaine was also responsible for the internal consulting unit and delivery of all ER and Global Mobility programs and services.

Prior to that, from June 1998 to November 2007, Heppler served as the Director of IT Security & Compliance at APAC Customer Services.

Dwaine Heppler has a Bachelor of Science (BS) in City/Urban, Community and Regional Planning from Iowa State University, a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in City/Urban, Community and Regional Planning from Iowa State University - Ivy College of Business, and certification from Human Capital Institute (HCI) in Strategic Workforce Planner. Additionally, they are certified by Hogan Assessment Systems as a Certified Personality Inventory Coach and by Prosci as a Certified ADKAR Change Management Leadership. Lastly, they have certification from MIS Training Institute in Uncovering Fraud in Core Business Functions and from Society of Corporate Compliance and Ethics (SCCE) as a Certified Compliance & Ethics Professional.

Dwaine Heppler reports to Kristi Darr, VP, University Human Resources. Dwaine Heppler works with and Tim Ashley - AVP, Payroll, Benefits & Tax.
