Job Description: 

A Property Accountant is responsible for the day-to-day accounting of commercial real estate assets.  This position is generally responsible for closing the books and records for a portfolio of properties and all ancillary accounting related to these assets.

Essential Duties:

  • Review all property management financial reports on individual assets.
  • Interact with other property accountants, banking personnel, and property managers.
  • Perform cash management functions.
  • Record and reconcile financial information.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual client reports.
  • Prepare annual audit and tax work papers.
  • Prepare monthly bank reconciliations for assets’ bank accounts.
  • Calculate and prepare statements of cash flows.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 2-3 years of accounting experience, preferably in the Commercial Real Estate industry
  • Detail-oriented
  • Analytical
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
  • Understanding of variance analysis when comparing actual to budget
  • Strong Microsoft computer skills
  • MRI experience is a plus
  • Ad Hoc projects as assigned
