Colin Hynes

Colin Hynes is an experienced Specialist Medical Scientist currently working at the Irish Blood Transfusion Service since January 2022. Prior to this role, Colin contributed to the IBTS as a Medical Scientist, where responsibilities included overseeing Tissue Bank operations involving the processing, testing, and distribution of various tissues and the development of Advanced Therapeutic Medical Products. Colin's experience also encompasses a position at the National Virus Reference Laboratory, focusing on quality assurance, documentation management, and regulatory compliance, alongside auditing and training responsibilities. Early in the career, Colin served as a Technical Specialist at Trinity Biotech. Colin holds a Master of Science in Biomedical Science from Ulster University and a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry from the University of Galway.
