Kris Zarns

Software Developer, Applications at Iteris

Kris Zarns has a diverse work experience in the field of software development. From 2006 to 2007, Kris worked as a Software Developer at IBM. From 2008 to 2013, Kris was a Software Developer at Meridian Environmental Technology, Inc., where they focused on road reporting software expert systems and managed databases for state agencies in multiple states. In 2013, Kris joined Iteris, Inc. as a Software Developer, where they continued to maintain existing products and also worked on research and development of new database systems using Apache Cassandra and Python. In addition to their industry experience, Kris also worked as a Graduate Research Assistant at the University of North Dakota from 2013 to 2015.

Kris Zarns began their education at Normandale Community College from 1996 to 1999, where they obtained an Associate of Arts (AA) degree in General Studies. They then attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison from 1999 to 2001, studying Physics but did not complete a degree. From 2001 to 2003, Kris attended Minnesota State University, Mankato, earning a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Computer Science. They then pursued further studies at the University of North Dakota, where they earned a Master of Science (MS) degree in Computer Science from 2004 to 2009. Finally, Kris completed their education at the University of North Dakota, obtaining a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Scientific Computing from 2009 to 2015.
