Barb Axelson

Co-Founder & VP of Sales at It's Skinny®

Barb Axelson has extensive experience in sales and business management. Barb is currently the Co-Founder and VP of Sales at It's Skinny, a company that offers healthy alternative pasta made from the Konjac plant. Barb joined It's Skinny in 2020.

Prior to that, Axelson worked as the National Sales Manager at Skinny Pasta, LLC from 2018 to 2020. Barb also held the position of Regional Sales Manager in the Northeast region at the same company from 2017 to 2019.

Before joining Skinny Pasta, Axelson served as the Vice President Sales for Tetra Pak at Soupman, Inc from 2016 to 2017. Barb was responsible for driving sales and managing relationships with clients.

From 2014 to 2016, Axelson worked as the Sales Director at K & Ns Food USA, LLC, where they established distribution networks and collaborated with brokers to bring the company's frozen food line to US supermarkets.

Prior to that, they held the position of Vice President and Regional Sales Director at Instant Combo Savings, a Marketing Services company, from 2013 to 2014. Barb was responsible for driving incremental volume for Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) companies through partnerships with retailers' Private Label brands.

Axelson also has experience working at ConAgra Foods as a Key Account Manager from 2011 to 2013, where they managed accounts and drove sales growth.

From 2010 to 2011, they worked as Vice President and Regional Sales Director at Instant Combo Savings, where they continued to drive incremental volume for CPG companies through partnerships with retailers' Private Label brands.

Prior to that, Axelson worked at Campbell Soup as a Sr. Business Manager from 2002 to 2010. Barb managed the Walgreen's and Wegmans accounts and played a key role in driving sales, market share, and business growth.

Axelson began their career at Unilever, where they served as a Senior Customer Business Manager from 1996 to 2001.

Throughout their career, Axelson has consistently demonstrated strong sales and leadership skills, making valuable contributions to the companies they have worked for.

Barb Axelson obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Business / Economics from Southern Connecticut State University from 1979 to 1983. Barb also pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Business/Managerial Economics from the same university, although the specific duration of this program is unknown.
