Russ Isaacs

Russ Isaacs has a diverse work experience that spans from 1994 to 2022. Russ currently holds the position of Director of Cybersecurity at Iveric Bio, An Astellas Company. Prior to this, they provided vCISO services at Nereus Systems starting in 2019. Russ also had a significant tenure in the US Army, where they held various roles including Cyber Protection Team Operations Manager and Information Assurance Program Manager. Russ also served as a Cyber Mentor for the Albanian Ministry of Defense. Additionally, Russ worked as a SANS Mentor at SANS Institute, a Technical Mentor at Civil Air Patrol, and a Cyber Security Consultant at DH Cyber Security Solutions, LLC. Their military experience includes serving in the 1/508th 173rd ABCT, 5th Ranger Training Battalion, and 3rd Ranger Battalion 75th Ranger Regiment.

Russ Isaacs holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree with a specialization in Management Information Systems from the New Jersey Institute of Technology, obtained in 2017. Russ also has a Bachelor of Applied Science (B.A.Sc.) degree in Information Systems Security from ITT Technical Institute, which they completed between 2012 and 2014. Additionally, Russ has an Associate of Science (A.S.) degree in Computer Systems Networking and Telecommunications, earned at ITT Technical Institute from 2004 to 2006. In terms of certifications, they have received various credentials, including the GIAC Certified Project Manager (GCPM) from GIAC Certifications, the Certified Expert Security Executive (CESE) from Lunarline, Inc, and several certifications related to cloud services, network security, system administration, and incident handling from GIAC Certifications. Russ also holds the RedHat Certified System Administrator credential from Red Hat. Lastly, Russ is recognized as a member of the GIAC Advisory Board.
