Pratik’s core area of practice is dispute resolution. It includes litigation and arbitration in diverse areas of corporate & commercial disputes, matters pertaining to Public Trusts, and matters arising out of engineering contracts. Pratik also specializes in matters pertaining to Media & Entertainment laws.

Pratik’s Media and Entertainment practise includes representing clients in contentious matters pertaining to copyright infringements in cinematographic films, disputes pertaining to rights in a cinematographic film, legal opinions on copyright infringement, advertising standards, advisory and documentation in relation to assignments of rights in a cinematographic film etc.

Pratik has been recommended in the disputes practice by RSG Consulting* in their India Report for 2019.

He has advised and represented clients before the Supreme Court of India, various High Courts in India, the erstwhile Company Law Board, NCLT and various Arbitral Tribunals. He has also appeared and handled matters before several other courts in India, including the Magistrates Court, Civil Courts both Senior and Junior Division, and the City Civil Court Mumbai. He has also represented various clients in ICC arbitrations as well as ad-hoc arbitrations.

He has handled matters in relation to the shareholders/join-venture disputes before the Company Law Board (CLB). He has represented foreign as well as Indian joint venture partners before the CLB. He has also advised entities in the proceedings initiated under Section 397 / 398 of the Companies Act, 1956 before the Company Law Board, Mumbai. Pratik has also advised and represented clients in relation to matters arising under the Insolvency & Bankruptcy Code, 2016 before the NCLT.

Pratik has also handled diverse criminal matters and represented clients in writs, criminal revisions/quashing applications in relation to offences under various statute and other criminal statutes. Pratik has advised clients on various areas of criminal law.

He has been practicing law since 2005. Prior to joining JSA, Pratik worked with AZB & Partners for five years, where he handled matters relating to civil and commercial disputes, contractual aspects of civil law in writ petitions, appeals and Public Interest Litigation.
