Mark Adams has a extensive work experience in the field of genomics and research. Mark started in 1992 as an Investigator at The Institute for Genomic Research, and then moved on to become the Vice President of Genome Programs at Celera Genomics in 1998. In 2003, they joined Case Western Reserve University as an Associate Professor, and later became the Scientific Director at J. Craig Venter Institute in 2011. Currently, Mark Adams holds the position of Professor and Deputy Director at The Jackson Laboratory since December 2016.

Mark Adams attended the University of Michigan from 1984 to 1990, where they obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Biological Chemistry.
