Laurel Burchfield

Laurel Burchfield has a diverse range of work experience. Laurel is currently serving as the Director of Marketing and Communications at JFS of Greater Kansas City. Prior to that, they were the Associate Director at the Mainstream Coalition. Laurel also worked as an Associate Director at the Michigan Coalition Against Homelessness, where they led advocacy activities on affordable housing and homelessness. Before that, they were the Transportation for Michgian (Trans4M) Coalition Coordinator at the Michigan Environmental Council. Laurel has also worked as a Senior Research Assistant at the Michigan Public Health Institute and as a Teaching Assistant at Michigan State University. Additionally, they have internship experience at the Conflict Early Warning and Response Mechanism, and they served as a Graduate Assistant at Florida International University. Earlier in their career, Laurel was the Development and Alumni Relations Manager at Valley Forge Military Academy & College.

Laurel Burchfield completed their Bachelor of Arts degree in History and English at The University of Kansas in 2006. Laurel then pursued a Masters degree in International Peace and Conflict Resolution at Arcadia University from 2006 to 2008.
