Cathy Sutherland

Cathy Sutherland is a Principal at JM Search and a member of the Firm’s Consumer Practice. Cathy has built her career supporting clients ranging from global Fortune 1000, middle market, private equity, and venture capital-backed companies. She has a strong track record of recruiting outstanding leaders in the Consumer industry including FMCG, food and beverage, durables, home products, pet, and retail companies. Cathy has led searches across an array of functions including General Managers, Marketing, Sales, Operations, Communications & Public Affairs, R&D, and Human Resources positions. She is a devoted ambassador for clients, targeting top-tier talent, and persuading them to consider the opportunity.

Prior to JM Search, Cathy was a Managing Director for ZRG Partners, a global talent advisory firm. During her tenure with the organization, she helped grow the firm’s Consumer Practice to one of the leading practice sectors. She also worked for Kensington International and led her own boutique firm for ten years. Cathy’s early career was spent in outside sales positions, representing service companies and Fortune 1000 companies.

Cathy earned a B.S. degree from Providence College in Marketing. She was raised in New Jersey and lived in San Francisco, Dallas, and major cities throughout the U.S. before she returned to the east coast in 2012. She serves on the Board of Directors for Girls Inc. of Philadelphia and Southern NJ and is a member of NextUp, an empowered network of women and men, and corporate partners that work together to eliminate barriers for women in the workplace. She is passionate about physical fitness and well-being and thrives on being on the move both indoors and outdoors. Cathy and her husband live in Monmouth County, NJ.
