Ernest Villanueva

Ernest Villanueva is an experienced engineering professional with a strong background in battery design and development. Currently serving as the Battery Engineering Lead at Joby Aviation since March 2018, Villanueva previously held various positions at Tesla from September 2006 to October 2017, culminating in the role of Sr. Manager for Battery Module Design, where significant contributions included launching modules for prominent products such as the Model S and Model 3. Prior experience spans roles at Synaptics, Honda R+D, and AlliedSignal, culminating in a solid foundation in mechanical engineering established with a BS from Stanford University.
