Haipeng (Mark) Zhang DO, MMSc, FAMIA has held numerous roles in the medical field over the years. In 2022, they became the President and Founder of the American Medical Extended Reality Association (AMXRA). From 2017 to 2020, they held various roles at Brigham and Women's Hospital, including Associate Chief Medical Information Officer - Digital Innovation, Medical Director - Digital Innovation Hub, Associate Program Director - Clinical Informatics and Innovation Fellowship, and Medical Director - Digital Health Implementation. From 2014 to 2015, they were a Palliative Care Consultant and Palliative Care Fellow at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. During this time, they were also a Co-Founder at Cake (joincake.com) and a Physician at Care Dimensions (formerly Hospice of the North Shore & Greater Boston). In 2015, they became an Instructor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School and a Clinical Informatics and Innovation Fellow at Mass General Brigham. In 2016, they were a Flare Scholar at Flare Capital and the President and Founder of the AMIA Clinical Informatics Fellows, where they created and first president of the national clinical informatics fellows organization and spearheaded the group creation and merger with AMIA.

Haipeng (Mark) Zhang DO, MMSc, FAMIA obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Neuroscience from the University of Pittsburgh between 2001 and 2005. Haipeng (Mark) then obtained a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine between 2007 and 2010. In 2015, they completed a Master of Medical Science in Biomedical Informatics from Harvard Medical School. Haipeng (Mark) also obtained certifications from the American Board of Internal Medicine in Internal Medicine and Hospice and Palliative Medicine, and from the American Board of Preventive Medicine in Clinical Informatics. In 2020, they were certified as a Fellow of AMIA (American Medical Informatics Association).
