Chris P.

Chris P. has a diverse work experience in the insurance industry and landscaping. From 2014 to 2020, they worked in various roles at insurance companies such as AIG, Blackboard Insurance, and Joyn Insurance. At AIG, they served as a Senior Commercial Underwriter, Casualty Underwriter, Underwriter - Environmental, and Underwriting Analyst - Environmental. During their time at AIG, they collaborated with underwriters, trained and mentored colleagues, and worked with technology teams to provide feedback on underwriting systems.

At Blackboard Insurance, Chris was a Product Innovator, responsible for spearheading auto strategy development and execution, establishing underwriting rules, and performing testing on the underwriting platform.

Currently, Chris is working at Joyn Insurance as the Head of Small Business Underwriting & Loss Control. Previously, they held the position of Digital Underwriting and Loss Control Lead. In this role, they focused on creating the next generation of underwriting, combining technology and underwriting expertise.

Before entering the insurance industry, Chris worked at Beechwood Landscape Architecture and Construction, LLC, as a Landscape Supervisor and Landscape Foreman.

Chris P. has a solid education history with a focus on civil engineering and risk management. They obtained a Master of Engineering (MEng) degree in Civil Engineering - Risk Engineering from Clemson University in the years 2016 to 2019. Prior to that, Chris P. earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Planning & Design from Rutgers University between 2006 and 2010.

In addition to their degrees, Chris P. has pursued various certifications to enhance their professional skills. They have obtained certifications such as Insurance Surplus Lines Broker/Agent from both the California Department of Insurance and the New Jersey State Department of Banking and Insurance. They also hold certifications as an Insurance Producer [Non-Resident] from the Florida Department of Financial Services and as an Insurance Broker, Property & Casualty from the New Jersey State Department of Banking and Insurance.

Furthermore, Chris P. has obtained a Certified Risk Manager (CRM) certification from The National Alliance for Insurance Education and Research. They also hold several certificates, including a Certificate in System Analytics and a Certificate in Risk Engineering from Clemson University, as well as a Certificate in Urban and Community Planning from Rutgers University.

Lastly, Chris P. has acquired a Notary Public commission from the State of New Jersey and is an associate member of RIMS (Risk and Insurance Management Society, Inc.).
