Vice President - Seat Belts Product Business Unit at Joyson Safety Systems

Erick Anderson has a strong background in the automotive industry, particularly in seat belts and applications engineering. Erick started their career in 1995 at Takata, where they worked as a Product Engineer, specializing in seat belt development. During their time at Takata, they contributed to the development and patenting of a Mechanical Self Compensating sensor for Belts-In-Seat Applications, which was adopted in millions of vehicles in Japan and North America.

Over the years, Erick took on various roles at Takata, including Engineering Team Leader for seat belts, Engineering Manager for transplant seat belts, and Director of Applications Engineering, where they were responsible for Honda and Nissan Programs involving air bag modules, steering wheels, seat belts, and seat weight sensing.

In 2018, Erick joined Joyson Safety Systems as Vice President of the Seat Belts Product Business Unit. In this role, they lead the team and oversees all aspects of the seat belts product business unit. Additionally, they previously held the position of Director of Applications Engineering for Asian OEMs, where they managed customer relations engineering for leading Asian automotive companies such as Honda, Toyota, Nissan, Subaru, Mazda, Mitsubishi, and Hyundai/Kia. Erick served as the main point of contact for critical issues and ensured effective communication of technical information to achieve customer goals.

Erick Anderson received their Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Kettering University in 1995. Erick later pursued their Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Michigan State University - Eli Broad College of Business and completed it in 2003.
