Rachel Vishniac

Rachel Vishniac, LMHC, ATR has a diverse range of work experience in the mental health field. Rachel started their career in 2012 as an Undergraduate Art Therapy Intern at Medicine Wheel Productions. Rachel then worked as an Educator at Arlington Enrichment Collaborative and as a Senior Counselor at Camp Playland of Redding in 2013.

In 2013, Rachel also served as an After School Art Teacher at Heath Elementary School and as a Graduate Art Therapy Intern at Medicine Wheel Productions. Rachel continued their graduate art therapy internship at Italian Home for Children in 2014.

From 2014 to 2015, Rachel worked as a Camp Counselor at The Fessenden School and as a Graduate Art Therapy Intern at the Italian Home for Children.

In 2015, they joined Bay State Community Services, Inc. as a Residential Clinician/Art Therapist. In this role, they helped develop and implement an art therapy program for clients at the STARR program.

In 2017, Rachel moved to The Home for Little Wanderers, where they worked as an Art Therapist/Clinician. Rachel provided individual and family therapy to youth aged 5-18 and collaborated with a multidisciplinary team to develop treatment plans and approaches specific to the needs of diverse clients.

Since 2018, Rachel has been working at Justice Resource Institute. Rachel started as a Clinician and then became an Assistant Clinical Director, responsible for overseeing clinical operations. Currently, they serve as the Clinical Director.

Rachel's work experience showcases their expertise in art therapy, individual and family therapy, treatment planning, and collaborating with diverse populations in various settings.

Rachel Vishniac, LMHC, ATR earned a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Art Therapy/Therapist from Lesley University in 2013. Rachel continued their education at Lesley University and completed a Master of Arts (M.A.) degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling: Art Therapy in 2015. In 2009, Rachel attended the University of Tampa but did not obtain a degree. Rachel has also obtained several certifications including "Building Communities of Care" from the Justice Resource Institute, "Adult CPR" from the American Red Cross in 2017, "CANS (Child and Adolescent Needs and Strengths)" from the Massachusetts Executive Office of Health and Human Services in 2017, "First-Aid" from the American Red Cross in 2017, and "Therapeutic Crisis Intervention" from Bay State Community Services, Inc. in 2017.
