Studio Design Director at Kabam

Brad Kavanagh has a diverse work experience in the gaming industry. Brad started their career at Propaganda Games as a Development Support from January 2007 to January 2009. Brad then joined United Front Games as a QA Lead, where they coordinated testing and also contributed to game design and light engineering tasks for Little Big Planet: Karting. Brad worked at United Front Games from April 2009 to March 2012.

In 2012, Brad joined Capcom Game Studio Vancouver as a Game Designer until May 2014. During their time there, they focused on game design tasks.

After that, they moved on to Kabam, where they held several roles. Brad started as a Senior Systems Designer from June 2014 to October 2016, working on Marvel: Contest of Champions. Brad designed the Quest system and implemented initial quest content for the game's launch. Brad also created and implemented social game systems.

Brad was then promoted to Lead Game Designer at Kabam and worked on two major projects. From 2016 to 2018, they led the design team for "Transformers: Forged to Fight," where they managed a team of designers and implemented changes to improve metrics. From 2018 to 2022, they led the design team for "Disney Mirrorverse" from concept phase to worldwide release, collaborating with other discipline leads and project leadership.

Currently, Brad Kavanagh is the Studio Design Director at Kabam Vancouver, where they oversee the design organization. Brad'sresponsibilities include managing career growth, developing new game concepts, and nurturing the design craft to enhance the team's skillset. The specific start date for this role is May 2022, and there is no specified end date.

Brad Kavanagh obtained a Certificate in Applied Software Development from the British Columbia Institute of Technology, which they pursued from 2009 to 2016. Prior to that, they acquired a Certificate in Game Art and Design from The Art Institute Of Vancouver, which they completed between 2005 and 2006.
