SUMMARY:

The program manager oversees and takes ownership for all aspects of running a licensed home that serves 15 adults with developmental disabilities. The program manager reports to the program director. The day to day management includes running a team of approximately 10 staff, interfacing with parents, social workers, and other health and human services agencies. The position has responsibilities ranging, but not limited to, client advocacy, coaching staff and clients, activity coordination to facility maintenance. Additionally, you are an integral member of the organization’s management team and expected to model and uphold the mission and values of Kainos.  Attention to detail and organizational skills are critical to this position.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversight of Triplex Residential Home.
  • Oversight of the initial orientation and training for new and existing staff to ensure best practices are being met.
  • Oversight of case management of all clients (i.e. attending meetings, completing paperwork and meeting with stakeholders, etc.).
  • Actively works to create team harmony and cohesion .
  • Responsible for all program schedules and ensuring there is 24/7 coverage (i.e. weekly staff schedule, program activity calendars, timesheets, managing call outs, etc.)
  • Oversees staff meetings and individual meetings with staff, families and stakeholders.
  • Responsible for interviewing candidates, following the hiring process with HR and on-boarding new hires.
  • Works to implement programming and training that is follows is person centered.
  • Guides and models for staff how to teach and support clients with activities of daily living.
  • Stays current with progressive trends in the field.
  • Oversight and takes responsibility for staying within the program budget.
  • Ensures compliance with all state regulations are followed by all staff and clients within the home.
  • Oversees all aspects of daily health management including administering medications and are in alignment with proper documentation.
  • Works with all stakeholders (i.e. GGRC, Conservators, Families, etc.) to support clients holistically.
  • Assists clients in managing personal, such as, healthcare, health insurance, medication, social security benefits, Medicare, medical, etc.
  • If appointed to handle a client’s money, ensure all policies are followed and money Work directly with clients to support them with all their personal needs.
  • Attend all internal meetings and events as required.
  • Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • A Bachelors degree, preferably in Social Work or a degree in Gerontology, Psychology or Counseling.
  • Individuals without a degree, but with appropriate work experiences, may be considered.
  • Minimum of two years management experience.
  • Must be able to pass a criminal records background check.
  • A valid Drivers License.

PHYSICAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Ability to remain standing or walking as needed.
  • Ability to reach, bend, stoop, twist, push and pull repetitively as needed.
  • Ability to remain seated for a period up to 4 hours.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs occasionally with assistance.

LICENSING REQUIREMENTS:

  • Authorized by the American Red Cross or similar agency to teach and certify staff in First Aid and CPR.
  • Be able to pass a physical examination and TB test.
  • Have a clean driving record and criminal record.
  • Be cleared to drive Kainos vehicles.
