Woonhyuk Baek

Woonhyuk Baek has extensive work experience in various research and development roles. Woonhyuk is currently working as a Research Director at Kakaobrain since September 2022. Prior to that, they worked as an Applied AI Research Scientist at Kakaobrain from December 2017 to February 2023. Before joining Kakaobrain, they worked at Kakao Corp. as a Multimedia Developer & Research from October 2014 to November 2017. Woonhyuk also has experience working as a Multimedia Developer & Researcher at Daum Communication Corp. from January 2011 to September 2014. Woonhyuk Baek started their career as a Researcher at the University of Applied Sciences Upper Austria from December 2009 to February 2010. Woonhyuk also worked as a Research Intern at Gwangju Institute of Science and Technology (GIST) from December 2008 to February 2009 and as a Researcher at Korea Institute of Science and Technology from July 2008 to December 2008. Woonhyuk began their professional journey as a Developer at Enswers Inc. from September 2007 to February 2008 and also worked as a Research Intern at Korea Institute of Science and Technology from July 2007 to September 2007.

Woonhyuk Baek completed their education with a Master's degree in Computer Vision in Computer Science from the Gwangju Institute of Science and Technology, where they studied from 2009 to 2011. Prior to their Master's degree, they pursued a Bachelor's degree in Media Engineering and Computer Science (double major) from Soongsil University, graduating in 2009. In terms of additional certifications, they obtained a certificate in Machine Learning from Coursera in December 2013.
