Thomas Whitener currently serves as the County Treasurer for Kalamazoo County Government since January 2021. Prior to this role, Thomas worked as a Licensed Realtor at Keller Williams Realty, Inc. from March 2019 to January 2021. Thomas has a strong background in game design, having held positions such as Systems and Balance Designer at Plarium and Lead Game Designer at The City Game. Additional experience includes participation in TechPeaks, and various roles in game and systems design at companies like Spark Plug Games, Centerline Digital, and Online Alchemy, alongside a brief tenure as a Transportation Security Officer with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. Thomas holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Interactive Design and Game Development from Savannah College of Art and Design, preceded by studies at the University of Pittsburgh.
