Laura Lombard has held a variety of roles in the public and private sector. In 2006, they began their career as a Paralegal at American Tax Solutions, Inc. In 2009, they were a Graduate Intern at the National Council on U.S.-Arab Relations. In 2010, they became a Consultant & Media Coordinator at The Cohen Group. From 2012 to 2021, they held several roles, including Executive Director and President of the Middle East & North Africa Consultants Association, CEO of ImEpik, LLC, Development Director at Clean Energy Business Council (CEBC), and U.S. Congressional Candidate KS-04 for Laura Lombard for Kansas. In 2020, they also began teaching an undergraduate-level course on the history and politics of the Middle East at Friends University. Most recently, in 2021, they became President and CEO of Kansas Global Trade Services, Inc., where they provide customized, strategic export consulting for governments, small-to-medium-sized companies, and Fortune 500 firms.

Laura Lombard received their Master of Arts in International Studies and Economics from The Johns Hopkins University - Paul H. Nitze School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) in 2010, after completing their Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and International Studies from The University of Kansas in 2006.
