Jon Espen Ingvaldsen, PhD, has a diverse and extensive work experience.

Currently, they hold the position of Adjunct Associate Professor at the Norwegian Research Center for AI Innovation (NorwAI) at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU), starting in April 2022.

Prior to this, they were the Chief Consultant at Kantega from January 2018, where they provided expert guidance and advice.

In 2016, Ingvaldsen co-founded Mito.ai and served as the CTO. Mito. ai focuses on building the next generation trading platform by combining real-time news and trading into one chat-based interface. Jon Espen held this position until January 2018.

From October 2014 to December 2016, Ingvaldsen worked as a Postdoctoral Fellow at NTNU, where they specialized in content-based recommender systems and entity linking at scale.

Ingvaldsen joined Kantega as a Senior Consultant in November 2012 and concluded their tenure in September 2014. During this time, they worked on consulting software development and data analytics projects for clients including Adresseavisen / PolarisMedia, Signicat, Sparebank1, and Entercard.

Jon Espen co-founded and worked as a consultant for Businesscape AS from December 2003 to November 2012. Businesscape provides consulting services and software for optimization of logistical processes and analysis of big data streams. Ingvaldsen worked with clients such as Sparebank1 (Kantega), Pasientreiser ANS (Acando), PolarisMedia, Q-Free, Texi, and Nidar.

In 2005, Ingvaldsen was a Software Developer in the Business Process Renovation Team at SAP AG. Jon Espen participated in an international scrum project developing tools for extraction and analysis of code quality metrics.

Lastly, in 2004, they worked as a Principal Executive Officer in software development at Brønnøysundregisteret from February to July.

Jon Espen Ingvaldsen, PhD, has a strong educational background in the field of Computer Science and Information Systems. Jon Espen pursued their academic journey at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU), where they completed their Master of Technology degree in Computer Science from 1998 to 2003. During this time, Jon also had the opportunity to expand their knowledge by studying as an exchange student at UC Santa Barbara, specializing in Computer Science for the academic year 2001-2002.

Motivated by their passion for research and furthering their expertise, Jon went on to pursue a PhD at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) from 2004 to 2011. Jon Espen'sdoctoral studies focused on Computer Science and Information Systems, allowing him to delve deeper into their chosen field and contribute to the advancement of knowledge.

In addition to their extensive academic achievements, Jon Ingvaldsen has obtained additional certifications to complement their expertise. In March 2011, they became a Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) through the Scrum Alliance, further enhancing their skills in project management and agile methodologies.
