Kreshaun McKinney

Director of Learning & Engagement at Kemper Museum of Contemporary Art

Kreshaun McKinney is currently the Director of Learning & Engagement at the Kemper Museum of Contemporary Art, a position held since September 2021. Prior to this role, Kreshaun served as a Field Representative for the Creative Arts Industries Commission at the Kansas Department of Commerce from March 2021 to April 2022. Kreshaun's extensive experience at The Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art spanned from July 2005 to September 2021, where roles included Manager and Educator in Audience Engagement, contributing to over 200 museum-based programs and developing award-winning adult programs. Kreshaun also designed arts programming as a Full-Time Studio Programs Teacher at the Ford Learning Center. Earlier career experiences include serving as a Resident Artist and Educator with Friends of Community Public Art and as Assistant Director of Admissions at The School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Kreshaun holds an MFA in Painting from Tyler School of Art, a BFA in Painting and Drawing from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, and has furthered education at Temple University Rome.
