Claire Coustas

Claire Coustas has a strong background in risk management and has held various leadership positions throughout their career. Claire currently serves as the Head of Group Risk at Kensington Mortgages, where they are responsible for implementing and improving the Enterprise Risk framework and leading a team of Risk Champions. Claire is also involved in strategic planning and external representation for the organization. Prior to this role, they were the Head of Third Party Risk Management at Kensington Mortgages and held the position of Senior Enterprise Risk Manager. Before joining Kensington Mortgages, Claire worked at Nedbank as a Senior Manager and at Telesure Group Services as a Risk Manager, where they were responsible for establishing the Risk Management function and implementing policies and controls. Claire also served as the Head of Risk at The South African Bank of Athens Limited. Throughout their career, Claire has demonstrated expertise in risk identification, management, and reporting, as well as training and mentoring team members.

Claire Coustas holds a Bachelor of Commerce in Law with a focus on Commercial Law and Management from the University of South Africa/Universiteit van Suid-Afrika, which they obtained from 2003 to 2005. In 2006, they earned a certificate in Internal Auditing from the University of Pretoria. Most recently, they completed a Professional Postgraduate Diploma in Governance, Risk & Compliance from the International Compliance Association in 2022. Additionally, they possess certifications including a Professional Postgraduate Diploma in Governance, Risk & Compliance from the International Compliance Association and a Certified GDPR Practitioner from Hansal International, both without specified date of completion.
