Laura Bond

Laura Bond has a strong background in scientific research and has worked in various roles throughout their career. Laura is currently employed at Kisbee Therapeutics, where they started in 2021 as a Scientist and later got promoted to the Senior Scientist role in January 2023. Prior to their work at Kisbee Therapeutics, Laura worked as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health from November 2017 to September 2021. During their time there, they focused on the cell biology and physiology of lipid handling and led interdisciplinary projects exploring the impact of ER lipid metabolism on cellular and organismal responses to environmental and nutritional stressors.

Before their postdoctoral position, Laura served as a Graduate Research Assistant at the University of Wisconsin-Madison from August 2011 to October 2017. In this role, they conducted research on the relationship between brown adipose tissue thermogenesis and lipid metabolism in adipose tissue and the liver. Laura'swork involved utilizing mouse models, molecular biology techniques, and metabolic disease phenotyping. Laura independently led study design, data interpretation, and manuscript preparation during this time.

In addition to their academic and industry experience, Laura also has tutoring experience. From September 2008 to May 2011, they worked as a Chemistry and Biochemistry Tutor at St. Olaf College, providing individual tutoring sessions and leading help sessions for students.

Laura's career in scientific research began with two summer undergraduate research fellowships. In 2010, they were a Summer Undergraduate Research Fellow at Dartmouth College, and in 2009, they held a similar role at the Mayo Clinic. At the Mayo Clinic, they worked in the Maher Laboratory, studying DNA flexibility and loop formation in E. coli.

Laura Bond completed their education at two reputable institutions. Laura began their academic journey at St. Olaf College in 2007 and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Chemistry, with a focus on Biomolecular Studies. Following their undergraduate studies, they pursued further education and enrolled at the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2011. After six years of dedicated study, Laura successfully obtained their PhD in Biochemistry in 2017.
