Koen Heatley has a diverse work experience in the field of software testing and automation. Koen started their career at Praxis as an SAP coach from 2002 to 2007. Koen then worked at Valori as a test consultant, focusing on data (un)load/conversion on Unisys mainframes. After that, they joined Achmea as a test lead/senior test analyst from 2010 to 2015. During their time at Achmea, they also worked as a senior automated test engineer and as an automation engineer, where they played multiple roles including developer, BA, tester, trainer, and process manager for a mainframe upgrade project. Koen then moved on to Planit Software Testing - New Zealand as a technical team lead at ANZ, where they handled test management, scripting, reporting, and automation. Koen worked at Capgemini as a trainer for automated testing and at ANZ as a test automation lead. Following this, they joined The Co-operative Bank as a test automation engineer & architect. Currently, they are working at Kiwibank as a lead engineer QA, responsible for test automation, framework development, data management, and training/coaching.

Koen Heatley completed a Quick Test Professional / Functional testing 11.0 Essentials degree from HP Software Education in 2013. In 2009, they obtained a Test Management degree from EXIN, and also completed a BISL Foundation program from the same institution. Furthermore, in 2008, Koen Heatley earned a Prince2 Foundation degree from APM Group. Koen also became an ISTQB Certified Tester, Advanced Level, specializing in Technical Testing and Functional Testing, through the ISTQB in the same year. Lastly, in 2004-2007, Koen Heatley attended HRM, although no specific degree or field of study is provided.
