Nick Flieg

Nick Flieg has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries. Nick is currently the Senior Director of Fraud & Credit Analytics at Koalafi, where they manage credit and fraud policy for the company's lease-to-own originations. Nick led a successful policy overhaul that resulted in a decrease in delinquency and an increase in cashflow yield.

Prior to their role at Koalafi, Nick worked at Capital One in various positions, including Head of Client Data Connectivity and Head of Vendor Intelligence and Spend Enablement. Nick also held roles as a Senior Manager and Business Manager in the areas of fraud modeling, data infrastructure, and authentication strategy. At Capital One, they focused on developing and implementing new authentication strategies and tools across all consumer access channels.

Before joining Capital One, Nick worked at CarMax as a Senior Analyst in Operations Strategy. Nick supervised research and development initiatives to optimize the vehicle reconditioning process.

Nick's early work experience includes being a Research Assistant at the University of Michigan, where they conducted statistical modeling and published an article on biomechanics. Nick also served as a Teaching Assistant at the Georgia Institute of Technology.

Throughout their career, Nick has demonstrated expertise in fraud analytics, operations strategy, data analysis, and research.

Nick Flieg earned a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Biomedical Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology in 2005. Nick then pursued a Master of Science (MS) and a Master of Engineering (MEng) in the same field at the University of Michigan from 2005 to 2006.
