Bubile Nkhata

Project Exploration Geologist at KoBold Metals

Bubile is an economic geologist with a background in base metal exploration and mining. She has an enthusiasm for integrated, multidisciplinary approaches to search space-reduction and systematic project-scale work tethered to field-based observations. She first worked at Sentinel Mine in northwestern Zambia as a Mine Geologist where she developed an interest in the understanding of structural controls to aid in resource optimisation and translating geological characteristics into geometallurgical implications. Following that, she went on to join First Quantum Minerals’ sediment-hosted copper exploration team where she worked on early and advanced projects moving on to Generative exploration across the Katanga Basin. During this time, she also participated in field campaigns in the Northern Territory and Queensland for basin-scale assessment of the McArthur Basin and Mt Isa terrane in Australia, as well as South Australia in the Adelaide Rift Complex.

She has also served as Secretary for the Geological Society of Zambia during the first three years of its re-instatement with efforts centred on engagement with geology students from the University of Zambia and Copperbelt University. Bubile graduated from the University of Zambia in the School of Mines with a B. Sc. in Mineral Sciences.
