Christoph Luechinger has a strong background in engineering and product development. Christoph began their career at ESEC SA in 1991, where they held various roles including Process Engineer and Project Manager, Process Group Manager, Director of Engineering, Manager of Market & Technology, and Product Director. During their time at ESEC SA, they initiated and coordinated advanced R&D projects, made significant contributions to the development of new technologies and processes, and had profit and loss responsibility for a product line.
In 1999, Luechinger joined Kulicke & Soffa as Director of Strategic Development. Christoph then took on the role of Director Strategic Development - Wedge Bonder Business Unit, where they performed market and technology analysis and led technical feasibility work for various projects. Christoph later became Senior Director, Site Engineering Lead, responsible for all engineering and product development activities of the wedge bonder business. In their most recent role at Kulicke & Soffa, Luechinger served as Vice President, Wedge Bonder Engineering and was a member of the Office of Business Development.
Throughout their career, Luechinger has led interdisciplinary teams, managed budgets, and initiated collaborations with customers and equipment partners. Christoph has also been involved in the development of new technologies and products, with several patents granted and pending.
Christoph Luechinger has a diverse education history. Christoph obtained a Diploma in Physics from ETH Zürich in the years 1978-1983. Christoph then pursued a Ph.D. in Physics from ETH Zürich from 1984 to 1990. Continuing their academic journey, they earned a BBA in Marketing from the Graduate School of Business Administration Zurich during 1992-1994. Lastly, they attended the University of Maryland Global Campus, where they completed their MS in Technology Management from 2001 to 2004.
