Wes Gavins

Wes Gavins has a diverse work experience spanning over several decades. Wes started their career in the United States Marine Corps as a private and eventually worked their way up to the rank of captain, serving for over 12 years. During their time in the Marine Corps, they had a top-secret security clearance.

In 2001, Wes Gavins joined Booz Allen Hamilton as a senior consultant to the chief technologist. Wes played a crucial role in leading the growth of the Los Angeles Cybersecurity business and was considered a leader in the company's cyber security and information assurance services for Department of Defense/Civil Space and ground systems. Wes Gavins also demonstrated their ability to anticipate future client requirements and implemented entrepreneurial approaches to capture new business. Wes was instrumental in driving new business growth through account planning and capture efforts, including proposal strategy development. Their tenure at Booz Allen Hamilton lasted until 2016.

Following their time at Booz Allen Hamilton, Wes Gavins joined the NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory. Wes initially served as the Chief Information Security Officer from July 2016 to May 2020. In this role, they were responsible for overseeing the organization's information security strategies and ensuring the protection of sensitive data. Afterward, they transitioned to the IT Solutions Directorate, where they continued to contribute until their departure in February 2023.

Currently, Wes Gavins holds the position of Vice President and Head of Cybersecurity at LA28, a company they joined in January 2023. As the head of cybersecurity, they likely plays a crucial role in developing and implementing strategies to safeguard LA28's digital assets from potential threats.

Wes Gavins completed their Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in History from Guilford College from 1988 to 1992. Following this, they pursued a Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Telecommunications Systems Management from National University between 1995 and 1997.
