Jason Toro began their work experience in 2005 as a Development Associate at Tiburcio Vásquez Health Center, Inc. where they were responsible for program development, budget design, and proposal writing. Jason then worked as a Program Coordinator at SEIU UHW-West & Joint Employer Education Fund from 2006 to 2010. At Homebridge, Inc., they served as a Program Director for TAPCA Training Institute from 2010 to 2012. From 2012 to 2014, they were a Governing Board Member, Trustee at Large at San Leandro Unified School District. Jason then joined San Leandro Unified School District again in 2014 as the Manager of the Student Health & Wellness Center. At Community Works West, they served as the Deputy Director from 2017 to 2019. Jason then worked as a Principal Consultant at Justice Reenvisioned from 2019 to 2020. From 2020 to 2022, they held the roles of Director of Diversion and Reentry Programs and later Chief Program Officer at La Familia. Currently, they are the Chief Executive Officer at Tri-Ced Community Recycling.

Jason Toro attended the University of San Francisco from 2007 to 2009, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Organizational Behavior and Leadership.
