Rebbeca Truax, MBA, CFRE has a diverse work experience in the field of philanthropy and fundraising. Rebbeca is currently serving as the Associate Vice-President & Campaign Director at Lakehead University. Prior to joining Lakehead University, they held the position of Director of Philanthropy at the Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre Foundation for nine years, where they built relationships with donors and led a team of fundraising professionals. Before that, they worked at Georgian College as the Manager of Resource Development, focusing on managing the Awards & Scholarships program, corporate partnerships, major gifts, and event fundraising. Rebbeca also served as the Planned Giving Officer at CNIB, where they engaged with donors making legacy gift decisions. Additionally, they have experience working as a Communications and Fundraising Consultant at Truax and Associates, providing services to various non-profit clients. Rebbeca began their career at the MacLaren Art Centre as a Communications Coordinator, where they connected the community to the value of visual arts through effective communication strategies.

Rebbeca Truax, MBA, CFRE has a strong educational background in business administration and fundraising. Rebbeca earned a B.A. General degree from the University of Ottawa in 1990. Rebbeca then pursued a Post-Grad Certificate in Public Relations from Humber College in 1991. In 2005, they obtained a Post-Grad Certificate in Fundraising and Development from Georgian College. Rebbeca continued their education at Athabasca University, where they completed a Post-Bac Dip in Management from 2011 to 2013. Rebbeca further enhanced their skills by obtaining an Executive Masters of Business Administration degree from Athabasca University in 2015. In 2016, they attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison and received an AHP Certificate in Advanced Skills for Major Gift Success from the Institute of Healthcare Philanthropy.
