Senior User Experience Designer at Lakeside Software

Brittany Ritz has extensive experience in user experience design, with a focus on UX research, information architecture, and workflow optimization. Brittany is currently working as a Senior User Experience Designer at Lakeside Software, where they have led the UX design and research for SysTrack Assist. By revamping the information architecture, Brittany has improved IT incident management globally and has implemented workflow optimization and automation, leading to reduced incident reporting and MMTR. Brittany effectively communicates research findings and influences design planning and future product vision through storytelling techniques and graphical visualizations.

Prior to their current role, Brittany worked as a User Experience Designer at QuidelOrtho from 2018 to 2022, where they led UX and UI across an entire platform of integrated testing products and new workflow software. Brittany collaborated with cross-functional teams to develop and validate user requirements, and built testing procedures through rapid prototyping, user flows, and contextual SME interviews.

From 2018 to 2018, Brittany worked as a User Experience Designer at HS Design, Inc. During their time there, they led UX for lab diagnostic interfaces, portals, and analysis workflows for Selux Diagnostics. Brittany conducted user research, field visits, contextual SME interviews, task analysis, and competitive analysis to deliver a cohesive design system that streamlined user flows. In addition, they analyzed and synthesized large-scale user research to create personas and journey maps for Berkshire Biomedical.

Brittany also has experience as a User Experience Designer and Voice User Interface Designer at FreshDigitalGroup. In this role, they designed an end-to-end Alexa voice app for food and restaurant recommendations called Restaurant Explorer. Brittany defined natural language voice UI through scenario and user flow identification and conducted competitive analysis and usability testing to refine the voice application.

Furthermore, Brittany has served as a Lead Designer at SBLD Studio from 2014 to 2017. In this position, they acted as a lead design architect and successfully translated complex client needs into simplified and intuitive design solutions. Brittany led multi-disciplinary teams on multiple parallel projects, effectively managing timelines and delivering projects on time and on budget. Brittany effectively communicated and presented design solutions to various stakeholders, leveraging research findings, industry insights, and best practices.

Brittany Ritz completed their Bachelor of Industrial Design in the field of Industrial Design (Human-Centered Design) from Pratt Institute. Brittany attended Pratt Institute from 2005 to 2010.

Afterward, they pursued a Master of Fine Arts (MFA) degree in Architectural Lighting Design at Parsons School of Design - The New School. Brittany was enrolled at Parsons School of Design from 2012 to 2014.

Brittany Ritz also obtained three additional certifications throughout their educational and professional journey. In January 2017, they completed a UX/UI Certificate from Pratt Institute. Later in May 2017, they acquired a Front End Web Development Certificate from General Assembly. Lastly, in June 2023, they obtained a UX Certificate from Nielsen Norman Group.
