Kenneth Upton is an LGBTQ+ civil rights advocate with extensive experience in legal counsel, having served as Senior Litigation Counsel at Americans United for Separation of Church and State from 2019 to 2024. Prior to that, they worked at Lambda Legal as Senior Counsel and First Amendment Strategist from 2014 to 2018. Kenneth holds a Doctor of Law (JD) from Oklahoma City University School of Law, completed in 1988, and a Bachelor of Science in Speech and Theater, earned in 1977 from Oklahoma City University. Passionate about theatre and travel, Kenneth continues to engage in advocacy for civil rights.
