John Porter

John Porter currently serves as the Pride Alliance ERG Co-Lead at Land O'Lakes, Inc., overseeing the company's LGBTQIA+ Employee Resource Group and focusing on community engagement and employee development. Previously, John worked as the Outreach and Partnership Liaison for Truterra, fostering connections with underserved farmers to enhance sustainable practices through various programs. As Extension Program Leader for Nebraska Extension and Urban Agriculture Program Coordinator at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, John led teams addressing complex agricultural issues and promoting urban agriculture initiatives. Additionally, John has experience as a Garden Columnist and a County Agriculture Extension Agent at West Virginia University, where research involved plant tissue culture and aquaponics. John holds a PhD in Leadership Studies from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, a Master of Science in Horticulture Science from West Virginia University, and a Bachelor of Science in Botany/Plant Biology from Marshall University.
