Shawn Brewster

Shawn Brewster has a diverse work experience in the field of data engineering and database administration. Starting from 2003, they worked as a Lead Database Administrator at Northrop Grumman Newport News, where they implemented system enhancements and mentored two Database Administrators, resulting in a $1M return on investment. Shawn also developed and managed extract, transform, and load (ETL) processes within databases.

In 2006, Shawn joined Northrop Grumman Mission Systems as a Software Developer, where they implemented software code improvements and maintained functional and technical documentation for Oracle applications. Shawn also maintained and improved command-wide intranet and internet websites.

Moving on to CACI International Inc in 2007, Shawn served as a Principal ERP Developer, leading a team of developers in creating Oracle EBS Module Views and migrating Oracle BI Discoverer to Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition (OBIEE). Shawn provided training and developed testing procedures and training guides, resulting in a $500K return on investment.

In 2014, Shawn joined Cognosante as a Senior Principal Application Developer and Database Administrator. Shawn led functional and technical support for Oracle E-Business Suite (EBS) and Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition (OBIEE). Shawn enhanced Oracle PL/SQL applications and performed Sybase ASE 12 tasks.

From 2019 to 2022, Shawn worked at Core Services Group, Inc. as a Senior Database Administrator and Developer. Shawn led technical resources responsible for SQL development, implemented T-SQL enhancements to the SAP ASE database, and performed Sybase Adaptive Server Enterprise (ASE) 15 tasks.

In 2022, Shawn joined Frank Recruitment Group as a Senior Oracle Developer. Shawn provided functional and technical support for Oracle E-Business Suite (EBS), enhanced Oracle Application Express (APEX) applications, and improved Oracle Applications effectiveness by enhancing PL/SQL components.

Currently, Shawn is working as a Data Engineer at Langley Federal Credit Union. Shawn'sresponsibilities include analyzing raw data, developing and maintaining datasets, designing and developing Data Governance technology solutions, creating data pipelines and integrations, and working with big data platforms.

Shawn Brewster's education history includes a Master of Information Technology degree from Virginia Tech, which they obtained from 2002 to 2005. Prior to that, from 1998 to 2001, they pursued a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration at Old Dominion University, with a major in Information Technology. Additionally, during the same period at Old Dominion University, they also completed a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a major in Decision Science and a minor in Economics.

In terms of certifications, Shawn has received various credentials. In 2010, they obtained the Oracle PL/SQL Developer Certified Associate and Oracle Database 11g Administrator Certified Associate certifications from Oracle. In the same year, they also acquired the CompTIA Network+ and CompTIA Project+ certifications from CompTIA. Furthermore, in 2010, they earned the Oracle Database SQL Certified Expert certification from Oracle. Lastly, in 2022, they obtained the Microsoft Certified: Power Platform Fundamentals and Microsoft Certified: Security, Compliance, and Identity Fundamentals certifications from Microsoft, both in March of that year.
