Omar El-Sharkawy

Omar El-Sharkawy serves as the Vice President of Corporate Development at LanzaTech since September 2021. Prior to this role, Omar held the position of Vice President at Captona Partners from July 2018 to September 2021, focusing on investments in power generation and energy infrastructure assets. Omar also gained experience as a Summer Associate at GSO Capital Partners in June 2017 and as an Investment Advisor at HOF Capital in 2016. Previously, Omar was an Investment Professional at Concord International Investments, L.P from June 2010 to June 2016, specializing in equity investment opportunities in various sectors, particularly in emerging markets. Omar began a career in service with City Year as a Corps Member from August 2009 to May 2010. Educational background includes a Bachelor's Degree in Economics from Washington University in St. Louis and an MBA from UNC Kenan-Flagler Business School.
