Wen E Chin is a VC Associate at Launch Africa Ventures. Prior to joining Launch Africa Ventures, Wen was with Greener Futures Foundation and UBS.

At UBS, Wen was the Director, LIBOR Transition Program Manager. In this role, Wen managed the transition of the Wealth Management division from LIBOR to the new Alternative Reference Rates, across all impacted asset classes (loans and deposits, mandates and capital markets) in APAC locations (Singapore, Hong Kong, Japan and Taiwan) and functions (markets, products, operations, finance etc.). Wen also represented wealth management in cross-divisional working groups, steering key transition decisions.

In addition, Wen drove front-to-back impact analysis (e.g. product offerings and documentations, system infrastructure, data sources, rating methodologies), defining location-specific approaches, executing plans; this included coordinating with relevant stakeholders (central program, location stakeholders, other UBS divisions etc.) to obtain necessary resources, implement relevant system changes, raise relevant RAIDs, reporting issues and status to senior managements.

Finally, Wen led the global communication and training stream across global (ex-America) locations; formulating and implementing a robust strategy and plan to ensure internal stakeholders are adequately trained and our clients well-informed through the course of transition from now to the end of 2021. This involved writing and vetting relevant communications to impacted high networth individual clients; ensuring all client communications have appropriate tone

Wen E Chin has an iMBA from IE Business School, a Bachelor of Accountancy from Nanyang Technological University Singapore, and a Certificate in ESG Investing from the CFA Institute. Wen also has a certification from the Centre for Effective Altruism in Introductory Effective Altruism Program, and a certification from Duke University in Impact Measurement & Management for the SDGs. Additionally, they have a certification from Skandinaviska Enskilda Banken (SEB), Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH, Partnership for Action on Green Economy (PAGE) in Introduction to Sustainable Finance, and a certification from UBS in UBS Wealth Management Diploma. Finally, they have a Standard First Aid certification from the Singapore Red Cross.
