Mikhail Belyaev

Computational Physicist

Mikhail Belyaev is a Computational Physicist at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, a position held since August 2017, focusing on low frequency non-ideal magnetohydrodynamics of the ionosphere and laser plasma interactions. Prior to this role, Mikhail served as a Postdoctoral Fellow at UC Berkeley's Theoretical Astrophysics Center from June 2014 to August 2017, where a new particle in cell code, PICsar, was authored. Mikhail's earlier experience includes work as a Scientific Computing Specialist at Intellisis from January 2013 to July 2013, where research centered on the efficient implementation of mathematical algorithms on MIMD architecture. Educational credentials include a PhD in Astrophysics from Princeton University and a Bachelor of Science in Physics from Stanford University.
