Amy DeWys

vDirector, Grants & Business Development at Lawrence Technological University

Amy DeWys most recently served as the Director of Development for the Detroit Public Schools Foundation for almost four years helping to create new partnerships and leverage over $25 million dollars in support of such programs and projects as the Hydration Stations and Connected Futures.

Prior to that she was a partner in ASA Consulting Group for 14 years where she worked with over twenty diverse nonprofits supporting them fund development, education programming. volunteer management and membership. She worked as a consultant and then as employee to establish and provide development and program related services to CultureSource for over ten years. She has procured funding from a variety of sources including the Ford Foundation, the Kresge Foundation, the Kellogg Foundation, and the Hearst Foundations.

Amy has a B.A. (Calvin College) in Interdisciplinary Studies and a M.A. (University of Iowa) in Anthropology (Specialization--Museum Studies). She has completed Ph.D. course work (University of Mississippi) in Educational Leadership. She is also a Senior Adjunct Instructor at Henry Ford College and has been teaching there for over 18 years. Amy enjoys cooking, gardening and travel.
