Alyssa Baris Leonas, SPHR, SHRM-SCP

Alyssa Baris Leonas, SPHR, SHRM-SCP has over 15 years of experience in Human Resources and Organizational Development. Alyssa began their career as an ALT (Assistant Language Teacher) with Japan Exchange and Teaching Program(me) (JET) in 2005. In 2006, they became a Human Resources Business Partner at Dako, where they designed, implemented, and administered health insurance and retirement plans for 300 employees, developed employee orientation materials, trained managers and supervisors on international human resources policies, and authored, designed, and distributed a company policies and procedures manual. In 2008, they joined Magellan's Travel Supplies as a Human Resources Manager, reporting directly to the CEO and directing HR Strategy, Recruitment, Performance Management, Compensation, and Benefits for the organization. Alyssa also partnered with senior management to effectively restructure the organization in order to increase efficiency. In the same year, they also took on an English Instructor role at iTTTi Japan. In 2011, they joined Employers Council as an Organizational Development Consultant, Professional Coach, Certified Mediator, Speaker, and Facilitator, specializing in Leadership Development, Conflict Resolution, Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI), Unconscious Bias, Generations Working Together, Communication, Team Building, and more. Alyssa also served as a Human Resources Consultant, advising and conducting training for a variety of employers on HR issues.

Alyssa Baris Leonas has an educational background that includes a BA in Global Studies with emphasis on Culture and Ideology from UC Santa Barbara, obtained in 2005. Alyssa also attended Boulder High School. In addition, they have obtained a Certified Denison Consultant from Denison Consulting in July 2022, a Certified Mediator from The Colorado Bar Association in January 2020, and holds certifications in SHRM-SCP, and Senior Professional In Human Resources (SPHR) from the HR Certification Institute - HRCI.
